Message from Viterbo’s Veteran Services Student Point of Contact Scott Stene: Today is POW/MIA Recognition Day. This is a day to honor and recognize both the men and women who answered the call of duty and are now listed as a Prisoner of War (POW) or Missing In Action (MIA) and their families, who continue to wait for their return. Today there are over 86,000 Americans still missing or un-accounted for by since records began tracking these numbers during WWII. To honor and recognize those still missing, the Viterbo Student Veterans of America chapter in partnership with Viterbo University, fly a POW/MIA flag throughout the year on the flagpole in Assisi Courtyard in front of the Dahl School of Business. As you pass through Assisi Courtyard today look for the flag and take a moment to recognize those who have not returned and honor them and their families with a moment of contemplation and prayer.
