An exhibit of artwork by Jason Skoog, library, will open the 2014–15 season of the Viterbo University Gallery with a reception from 7:30–9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3. “Bows and Arrows” will feature mixed media works on paper using a variety of materials such as ink, colored pencil, acrylic, gouache, and charcoal; digital prints; and small horse drawings inspired by his rural Minnesota home.

 

Students, are you interested in traveling the world and getting Viterbo credit for doing so? Attend the Study Abroad Fair Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Student Union Lobby. Student Activities Board will hold an Ice Cream Social and meeting Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 5:30 p.m. in School of Nursing Building 195.

 

The Viterbo community is invited to attend the Student Development Center Open House Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 3–5 p.m. Meet and greet staff from campus safety, counseling services, health services, and the vice president of student development, enjoy some refreshments, and tour the building. New students and employees in attendance are eligible from door prizes. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

Employees: Is your child a senior in high school? Are you interested in the tuition exchange program and unsure how to navigate the process? Join your fellow colleagues for an information session on the tuition exchange program for full-time Viterbo employees in the School of Nursing Building 104 on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. or Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m.

 

Viterbo has established a Mother’s Room for the purpose of providing breastfeeding mothers with a private place. The Mother’s Room is available to both employees and students and is now located in Murphy Center Room 581.

 

August and September are typically the worst months of the year for serious campus-related housing fires. In a nationwide effort to raise fire and safety awareness on campuses September has been designated Campus Fire Safety Month. Viterbo’s Campus Safety Department will be sending out fire safety tips throughout this month in support of the nationwide campaign.

Kasie Von Haden joins Viterbo today as  the Director of Campus Activities and Orientation. Kasie is an alumna of Viterbo and most recently earned a master’s degree in higher education/student affairs from Iowa State University. The Admission department has three new Admission Counselors joining Viterbo. Myriah Borofka begins today. Myriah worked at UW-Stout as an admission counselor. She has a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
